Spices are fragrant or strong-flavored plant parts that are used in small amounts in food as preservatives or flavorings in dishes. Spices are usually distinguished from other plants which are used for similar purposes, such as medicinal plants, scented vegetables, and dried fruit.

Temulawak

Temu lawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza) is a medicinal plant belonging to the tribe of findings (Zingiberaceae). He came from Indonesia, especially Java, then spread to several places in the biogeographic region of Malesia. In Indonesia, the only part that is utilized is rimpang temu lawak to be made herbal godog.
This rhizome contains 48-59.64% starch, 1.6-2.2% curcumin and 1.48-1.63% essential oil and is believed to improve kidney work and anti-inflammation. Another benefit of this plant rhizome is as an acne medication, increasing appetite, anti-cholesterol, anti-inflammatory, anemia, antioxidants, cancer prevention, and antimicrobials.

Jeruk Purut Leaf
